The Blackbear Lodge is our answer to today's concerns about where the United States is headed and its preparedness. All indications are that threats to our way of life are real and growing. This is not theory but fact. Rather than waiting to see what will happen a few forward thinking individuals have come together to design a 21st Century solution for a 21st Century problem.
A well known saying is "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail". Therefore, we have created an answer that addresses the sticky issue of survival on your behalf. Our members can expect to survive most major emergencies other than a direct blow or planetary scale event. While we can hardly expect to compete with official government channels. There are a few lessons to be learned from the level of preparedness in the case of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Sandy. It is clear that three days provisions are not enough to handle any major problem.
In fact, we are probably talking years to recover. Here are a few of the issues contemplated by The Blackbear Community project.
- Once the initial shock of the emergency has subsided the survivors may need to relocate to get away from damage, famine, disease, criminality and government's attempt to control the situation usually with overwhelming force. The Blackbear Lodge is a privately owned group of facilities that will be put into place before disasters occur and ready on a moments notice to receive an influx of authorized members.
- The first 48 hours after the initial disaster are the most critical. Until the members have made their way to one of our Lodges the situation could continue to spin out of control. Members are encouraged to prepare to withstand at least the first 48 hours of a disaster on their own. This means you must be prepared to endure power failures no access to medical care, food and water whether at home or stuck in a car. A 48 hour personal disaster kit must be with each person at all times in your family.
- It is likely that transportation will be either blocked or grid locked due to people fleeing the disaster. Therefore, early warning and early evacuation will avoid many of the complications. Think of Katrina and how the people tried to stay in their homes as long as possible waiting for transport that never came. The Blackbear Community monitors situations globally that may affect those of us at home. We will post warnings as soon as possible on our website and send out text messages to give you the earliest possible warning of trouble.
- Failure to relocate promptly could result in unnecessary delays and exposure to threats. You may face curfews, sheltering in place, the imposition of Marshall Law and forced evacuation to government run facilities, not to mention food shortages, riots, roving gangs and so on.
- Power, communications, medical care, fire fighting, law enforcement, food and water distribution, garbage collection and other critical services will most likely not be unavailable.
- There may or may not be reliable information coming from broadcast news sources. The idea of staying home to watch the controlled news may actually put you in jeopardy by delaying your departure. Do not expect to be warned of coming disasters until it is too late.
- A conflagration could spiral out of control very quickly. Plus there is a compounding effect of disasters, tragedies, the lack of readiness, deceptions and misinformation all of which can lead to very dangerous secondary disasters. Once the people realize that their needs can not be met we anticipate a total breakdown of civility. The Blackbear Community presumption is that the needs of the public will not be met. Therefore, we must take matters into our own hands.
In no way does The Blackbear Community offer to meet the most immediate requirements demanded by a disaster or crisis. Nor have we designed a permanent solution for people to cover their long term needs. Our coverage is designed to handle the interim needs of our members. That is the time period between the initial disaster and the return to normalcy or a permanent resolution. As families and individuals attempt to get back on their feet we will be here to help. We are your own private relief group; privately funded; privately driven; privately responsible to meet your needs during time of crisis.
What would happen if you had a place prearranged to handle your needs before the crisis hit? That is what The Blackbear Community is. A location where your housing, food, first aid, security and safety have already been put in place. Rather than wondering where to go or what to do, at Blackbear we become your ace in the hole when everyone else tries to raise on a busted flush. Today that may not be such a big deal. But when things go bad and a major crisis is looming the Lodge may be just what you and your family need to survive.
The Blackbear Lodge is like a uniquely camoflaged insurance policy designed to protect you and your loved ones just in case the unthinkable should ever happen. Let us hope that day never arrives. But if it does we will be ready. If that event does happen we bet you will have more to think about than just locking your doors. It will be good to know where you will sleep tonight and what you will eat, you will keep warm and what tomorrow may bring. The best insurance policy is one that is silently in the background covering you.
Blackbear allows its beneficiaries to get back on their feet as quickly as possible instead of become a casualty of ineptitude, inefficiency and miscalculation.
Let's face it the rich and powerful have their bunkers, food storage and security already in place. Do you?
As in any rescue scenario we can not possibly anticipate all contingencies. Neither are the solutions we have to offer meant to be permanent solutions to the long term challenges of a national emergency. However, we plan to give our members a fighting chance to:
- Survive the initial impact of the crisis
- Limit the amount of damage caused by the crisis
- Defend against those who may try to take advantage of the crisis
- Relocate away from the disaster in a safe haven
- Reestablish normalcy as quickly as possible
